Vision and Mission

The Faculty of Dentistry, Prince of Songkla University was established on November 10, 1983 after promulgation in the Government Gazette. Its creation was intended to serve the government policy of decentralizing dental service to communities in districts and provinces as well as to reduce the incidence of oral disease in the South.

Mission

To provide education in dentistry, dental service, research, and academic service to produce alumni and dental service that emphasizes holistic patient care and integrated subjects and spread new general knowledge and technology to an excellent service level and to build patient satisfaction.

Defined Excellence    

  • Undergraduate education – to produce education that passes the AUN QA standard > 4
  • Postgraduate education – to produce education that passes the AUN QA standard > 4
  • Research service – to produce research that passes the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) evaluation to a level > 4 in the TRF index
  • Professional service – to be the first Dental Faculty to have a certified dental hospital (HA) that has a patient satisfaction level > 90%
  • Dental service – that has a patient satisfaction level > 90%
  • Dental service management – to pass the EdPEx standard to a level > 300

Goals

  1. Produce dentists with knowledge and ability to international standards who have ethics, morals and who are conscious of their professional responsibilities and who seek lifelong learning to respond to the needs of the country.

  3. To produce research work and innovation beneficial to develop the quality of life and accepted by international standards
  4. To be a Dental Treatment Centre covering all fields of dentistry to certified standards
  5. To be the source for dental knowledge and academic service which responds to the needs of society
  6. To be a continual education centre and a place of practice for dental personnel
  7. To support cooperation with international institutions academically, in research and postgraduate education
  8. To promote and support students and personnel in the Faculty to uphold ethics, Thainess, lifeskills, social consciousness, and the ability to work cross-culturally.
