Scopes of research
1. Biomaterials for bone substitution and Guided Bone Regeneration
- Bioresorbable polymer-ceramics scaffolds
- Bioresorbable collagen membranes
- Bioresorbable collagen and hydrogel sponges
- Demineralized human tooth matrix used as bone substitute
2. Combinations of the bone substitute biomaterials and stem cells, isolated from human dental pulp and adipose tissue for treatment of oral and maxillofacial bone defects.
3. Combinations of the bone substitute biomaterials and growth factors ( e.g. rhBMP-2, Platelet Rich Fibrin ) for treatment of oral and maxillofacial bone defects.
4. Clinical trials of those materials and combinations in cleft and edentulous patients.
ขอบเขตของงานวิจัย
1. การวิจัยวัสดุที่ใช้ในการผ่าตัดปลูกกระดูก โดยอาศัยหลักการชักนำให้กระดูกคืนสภาพ ( Guided Bone Regeneration,GBR ) ได้แก่
– พัฒนาวิธีการผลิตวัสดุทดแทนกระดูก แผ่นยื้อกั้นปิดประตูที่ผลิตจากโพลีเมอร์ คอลลาเจน และเซรามิค
– พัฒนาการใช้เนื้อฟันธรรมชาติ ( Humam Dentin ) เพื่อใช้ผลิตเป็นวัสดุทดแทนกระดูก
2. การวิจัยเกีี่ยวกับเซลล์ต้นกำเนิด (stem cells ) ที่คัดแยกจากเนื้อเยื่อโพรงประสาทฟัน ไขมันและไขกระดูก เพื่อใช้งานร่วมกับวัสดุทดแทนกระดูก
3. พัฒนาการใช้โปรตีนที่ส่งเสริมการสร้างกระดูกชนิด rhBMP-2 ร่วมกับวัสดุทดแทนกระดูก
4. การวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับผู้ป่วย
– การศึกษาผลการผ่าตัดรักษาผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่ และผู้ป่วยที่มีการสูญเสียกระดูก โดยกาใช้วัสดุทดแทนกระดูกและแผ่นเยื้อกั้นปิดกระดูก
